BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

Before it is too late,

raise the voice, big outcries.

I wrote it in the book entitled “Donde no habite al miedo”, with María Novo as co-author, four or five years ago:

"There is no time to sleep.

We have to defeat them
with diligence,
not by force.

We have to defeat them
by the number of voices
by the outcry.

We have to defeat them
with the outcry
of the entire world.

We will make alliances with the wind,
we will go together with the echo
so there is not a single
consciousness unreached.

Only then

this infernal machinery

that sweeps everything up,

silences
and annihilates

will  stop.

Only then

we will give sense

to our lives”

We cannot remain as impassive spectators. Raise the voice, especially on matters that can reach points of no return: social inequality, extreme poverty and exclusion, environment, nuclear threat...

Plutocratic groups (G7, G8, G20) out and refoundation of the United Nations, within an emergency framework, with a General Assembly constituted by the 50% by representatives of civil society. Immediate disarmament for development: there are no resources for the implementation of the Paris Agreements on climate change or for sustainable development objectives. With only 10 per cent of the colossal and excessive investments in arms and military expenditures ($ 4 billion dollars a day), would be possible to put into practice the priorities of the United Nations: food, water, health services, environmental care, education and peace, without any detriment to "territorial security" .

It is necessary to demand the rapid transition from an economy of speculation, productive delocalization and war to an economy knowledge-based for global, sustainable and human development.

The outcry of humanity, aware of the fact that more than 20,000 people, most of them children from one to five years of age, die every day of starvation and inhuman conditions of life, should be firm, demanding and resolute.

A monetary European Union exclusively, unsupportive, used to pay many debts except the one that really matters: the one that has been contracted with the whole humanity, of which it should be watch tower and beacon.

Before it is too late, raise the voice of "We, the peoples...” resolved to take in their hands the reins of the common destiny.
